Hi, Michelle. In terms of value and overall weight, the 5'8" Fish is a nice place to start. Another option to consider is the Liquid Shredder Black Ball Tri-Fin Kids Element Series 5 ft
designed with kids in mind; it has a weight limit up to 80 lbs, so it leaves some growing room. I might also suggest the Kids Element Series 4'2" Dual Aluminum Stringers Patented Peruvian Soft Surfboard
, although the weight limit on this board is only 50 lbs. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Thanks!

Hi, Bobby. Any short soft-board would be a good board for him to start out on. Another board to consider would be the California Board Company 6'2" Fish High Density EPS Surfboard
. Feel free to call us if you need further assistance.

A: Hi Jared, the weight limit on the California Board Company 5'8" Fish Soft Surfboard is 180 pounds. You may be more comfortable going with the longer board as a beginner, so you can catch more waves.

Hi Kat, the California Board Company 5'8" Fish Soft Surfboard only comes in the single pattern. Other surfboards available like the Liquid Shredder Fish Element Series 5’8" Dual Aluminum Stringers Patented Peruvian Soft Surfboard
do come in different colors.
